Take A Hike in 2016

First Day Hike Events Offered Across North Carolina

On January 1, many state parks across North Carolina are holding First Day Hike events to help people start off the new year right with some exercise and family fun. In the Triangle, First Day Hikes will be held at Jordan Lake, Falls Lake, and Eno River State Park.

Out of town for the holidays? No problem. First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide effort by America’s State Parks to get more people outside, and there are more than 400 hikes scheduled this year in all 50 states. To find one close to you, visit the American Hiking Society at www.americanhiking.org/first-day-hikes.
