Celebrate the Christmas Season at the Lights on the Neuse
If (like me) you weren’t thinking about Christmas in July, you probably missed out on booking your tickets for the incredibly popular Holiday Express train ride through Raleigh’s Pullen Park. Tickets for the Holiday Express are sold out, but fear not fellow procrastinators! There is still plenty availability for an equally stunning holiday light show here in the Triangle called Lights on the Neuse.
Located at Boyette Family Farms in Clayton, Lights on the Neuse offers visitors a one-mile, 30-minute tractor-pulled hayride through a spectacular display of lights with accompanying holiday music. No reservations are required, except for wheelchair accessible hayrides. The cost is $10 per adult (ages 12 and over) and $7 per child (ages 3-11). Children ages 2 and under are free.
Family Attractions at Lights on the Neuse
Lights on the Neuse also offers a number of other attractions to get your family into the holiday spirit:
Sugar Barn: A sugar cookie decorating station where you can purchase different decorating kits that include cookies, decorations, icing, and packaging to take home.
Santa’s Sweet Shoppe: Here you’ll find old-fashioned Christmas candy, kettle corn, hot chocolate, coffee, and s’mores kits you can purchase and cook over a fire in the nearby picnic area.
Visit with Santa: Children and families can have their pictures taken with Santa for a sitting fee of $10 per group picture. Pictures are uploaded to Shutterfly for purchase, or feel free to bring your own camera and take up to three pictures per family. Not interested in a picture? Visit with Santa for free without any pictures! (No personal pictures may be taken.)
Playdate with Santa: Have an individual visit with Santa that includes Christmas activities, a snack and hot chocolate! (*Online tickets are required for this activity.)
