After all the Thanksgiving & shopping excitement here are few of our favorite weekend activities for the kiddos.

What’s on your weekend agenda?

IPREO Winterfest. Fayetteville St., Raleigh. Open until Jan. 31st.  Outdoor ice skating rink. $10 admission includes skates.

Princess Skate. Nov. 28th. United Skates of America, Raleigh. Little ones can dress up like their favorite princess & skate.

 Hillridge Farms Festival of Lights. Open until Dec. 27th. Hay wagons, train rides, twinkling lights, music, food, Santa & much more. Visit with Santa included in admission from 5:30-8:30.

Small Biz Saturday..Nov. 28th. What local small business will your family be supporting this weekend?  Check out some of our favorite small businesses featured at the annual Vend Raleigh Holiday Sip & Shop.

Santa’s Gift to the Monsters. Nov. 29th. 3:00pm. Halle Cultural Arts Center, Apex. Holiday family concert presented by the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra. Stories, music & treats along with the question, “What will Santa give the monsters at Christmas?

Holiday Pops. Nov. 27th-28th. Meymandi Concert Hall, Raleigh. Sing-a-long with the symphony to holiday tunes from The Polar Express, Frozen, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas plus other holiday favorites.

Citizen Science Saturdays at Prairie Ridge from Museum of Natural Science. Nov. 28th. Prairie Ridge, Raleigh. Age requirement is 8 years old and up.  Walk around with a naturalist collecting and entering data on the trees, garden, bugs, birds and other parts of nature you might come across.

Lights on the Neuse kicks off this weekend.  Light displays, cookie decorating, playdates with Santa & lots more.  Check out a local mom’s guide to making this one a must see!

Marbles MuseumNov. 27th-29th. Raleigh. The weekend is packed with Turkey Day Parade Floats, Radical Recess: Yam Jam, Magnet Mayhem & Backyard Explorers.

Harris Lake County Park Holiday Wagon Ride. Nov. 28th. Grab your favorite blanket & our family. Enjoy a Thanksgiving wagon ride around Harris Lake. $5 per family, $3 individual. Limited seating so register in advance.

2015-11-22 (4)NC Chinese Lantern Festival. Open until Jan. 3rd. Koka Booth Amphitheater, Cary. Twenty light displays, vendors, crafts, performances, food & much more.




Santa’s Wonderland. now until Dec. 24th. Bass Pro Shop, Cary. Free photo with Santa, crafts, games & activities. Pick up a “Bass Pass” there so you can shop & don’t have to wait in line.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Nov, 27th-Dec. 30th. Fletcher Opera Theatre, Raleigh.

Youth Disc Golf Clinic. Nov. 28th. 9-12pm. Herbert C. Young Community Center, Cary.  Ages 5-13 years, $10 registration. Introduction to sports disc golf, throwing styles & a chance to play on a DUO course set. Register online.

The Elf on the Shelf Storytime. Nov. 28th. 11:00am. Barnes & Nobles at Triangle Town Center, Raleigh. Celebrate Scout Elf return week with fun activities at Scout Elf Return Boot Camp. Also held at the B&N at Crabtree Valley MallB&N at Cary Commons & B&N at Brier Creek.

Holiday Book Drive. until Dec. 27th. Barnes & Nobles at Cary Commons.  Book drive will benefit Project Enlightment.

Sleigh Rides at Brier Creek. until Dec. 20th. Raleigh. Friday & Saturdays from 5:30-8:30pm. Sundays from 2:00-5:00pm
